24th Annual Kainos Benefit Golf Tournament

The Redwood City-San Mateo County Chamber of Commerce is proud to present the 24th Annual Kainos Benefit Golf Tournament Monday, May 9, 2011 at
Stanford University Golf Course.

A $32,000 check was presented June 24th, 2010 to Redwood City based Kainos Home & Training Center. The proceeds come as a result of the success of the Kainos Benefit Golf Tournament held May 10th at Stanford University Golf Course, which is arranged and presented by the Redwood City-San Mateo County Chamber of Commerce.

Over the past twenty two years this Chamber has been able to present over $600,000 to Kainos Home and Training Center for Developmentally Disabled Adults. The Tournament began over 20 years ago as the Chamber was increasingly asked to contribute to this cause or that cause. At that time the leadership of the Chamber decided they wanted to be able to make a larger impact on one organization. It works because of the excellent working partnership that the chamber enjoys with Kainos."

Larry Buckmaster, Chamber President & CEO, said "that it is very unusual for one non profit to contribute those kind of funds to another non profit." What Buckmaster calls "the heart of the Chamber".

Andy Frisch, Kainos Executive Director, said "that the contribution from this event means so much to Kainos. It enables them to continue their work in helping their clients gain self esteem as they become contributing and participating members of the community." Frisch said "this donation is the largest one-time contribution that Kainos receives each year."
