Amy Buckmaster

Amy Buckmaster serves as President & CEO of the Redwood City/San Mateo County Chamber of Commerce.  With over 1,000 businesses and organizations, including almost 60 non-profits and over 40 educational institutions, the Chamber’s membership represents over 65,000 employees throughout Redwood City and San Mateo County.  The San Francisco Business Times consistently ranks the Chamber in the top five of all chambers of commerce throughout the nine Bay Area County regions.

During her tenure as President & CEO of the Redwood City/San Mateo County Chamber of Commerce, Ms. Buckmaster has successfully developed a vision and set of goals and guiding principles, which have served as a foundation for the Chamber to advance its position as one of the leading business organizations in California.  The Chamber provides local and regional leadership on critical economic vitality issues such as education, housing affordability, infrastructure, transportation, economic development and government efficiency initiatives.

Ms. Buckmaster is well known for being a champion of public/private partnerships and bringing stakeholders together to talk, listen, and identify common sense solutions and consensus with the goal of problem-solving and positive solutions.

In addition to serving the Redwood City/San Mateo County Chamber of Commerce, Ms. Buckmaster is also the Executive Director of the Redwood City Improvement Association (RCIA) created in September 2014 as a non-profit 501(c)(3) corporation. RCIA is a community benefit district administered by a board consisting of property owners, residents, community members and businesses. The board is responsible for making decisions in the areas of public safety, beautification, economic development, maintenance and promotions that are most beneficial for the community and its residents, while maintaining the culture and rarity of Redwood City’s downtown district.

Ms. Buckmaster serves the local and regional community in several capacities, including on the Redwood City Sequoia Awards Board of Directors, the County of San Mateo Home For All Initiative, the San Mateo County Transit District “Get Us Moving” stakeholder advisory group, the BUILD Up for San Mateo County Children’s advisory group and recently the Canada College President’s advisory group and the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative Redwood City Advisory Committee.

Ms. Buckmaster started her college education at Canada College.  She holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology from Notre Dame De Namur University and is a graduate of Stanford University Graduate School of Business – Redwood City Entrepreneurship Boot Camp.

She was named 2013 Business Woman of the Year sponsored by United American Bank and in 2016 named one of the San Francisco Business Times Influential Women.

Ms. Buckmaster and her family reside in Redwood City.
